Jammu and Kashmir, Operation Bunbazaar: An Exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces at Bona Bazaar area of Shopian. Reportedly, two terrorists have been killed, while weapons and warlike stores have been recovered. The search operation is still in progress. The incident took place when the security forces started a search operation in the area of Bona Bazaar area in Shopian, after receiving the information of militant hiding theirs.
The militants started an open fire, to which the security forces retaliated. In a cross-firing, five terrorists were killed, while no injuries in security forces have been reported so far. The incident came after the nation celebrated the 20 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas in India, marking the 20 years of the victory against Pakistan in 1999 war.
Ministry of Home Affairs has recently given a report of infiltration as well. Earlier, the infiltration was reduced following the Balakot Air Strike in Pakistan, which was the retaliation of the deadliest attack by militants in Pulwama, in which 41 CRPF soldiers were martyred.
Jammu & Kashmir Police on Operation Bunbazaar (Shopian), said, "Top most Jaish commander of South Kashmir Munna Lahori/Bihari from Pakistan killed along with his local associate after a night long operation."
While the militants are continuously infiltrating the valley and attacking, Pakistan on the other side is again on the track of talks. Recently, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan himself claimed that there is some militants group operating in Pakistan.
