Advertisment
A day after Army Chief Bipin Rawat warned about the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) could escalate anytime, Pakistan has violated ceasefire in Mankote sector in Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday. Pakistani side resorted to firing at around 7:15 am using small arms and mortars. Meanwhile, the Indian Army is retaliating to the situation. General Bipin Rawat on Wednesday cautioned that situation along LoC could escalate. He said, "We have to be prepared for the escalatory matrix." Bipin Rawat's remarks assume significance in the backdrop of increase in the incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir since the brogation of Article 370 on August 5. Earlier in November, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy stated in the Parliament that "950 incidents of ceasefire violation along the LoC were reported during August 2019 to October 2019." https://www.ptcnews.tv/ms-dhoni-sings-main-pal-do-pal-ka-shayar-hoon-video/ On Monday, two Pakistan Army Special Service Group (SSB) soldiers were killed in  Jammu and Kashmir's Sunderbani sector. Meanwhile, a 21-year-old Indian Army soldier was killed during the counter-attack. The Indian Army said in a statement that "Pakistan carried out unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector. The Indian Army retaliated effectively, inflicting damages to Pakistan Army." -PTC News-
