An Indian Army jawan was killed and two others were injured after Pakistan initiated a ceasefire violation along with the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday night. Pakistan resorted to selling on the forward posts of the Assam unit of the Indian Army in the Shahpur-Kerni sector.
During the incident, three Indian Army personnel received injuries and were immediately taken to a hospital. One of them succumbed to injuries, the officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Sepoy Lungabui Abonmli (29). The two other injured have been identified as Lienkhothien Senghon(29), and Sepoy Tangsoik Kwianiungar (21). Both of them have been airlifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur for treatment.
Also, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in the Rampur Sector of Baramulla on Sunday morning. The Defense spokesperson Lt. Col Rajesh Kalai said that in the morning hours on Sunday, Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation CFV) along the LoC in Rampur by firing mortars and other weapons.

This month, this is the third death in Pakistani firing and shelling. Earlier on June 10, Naik Gurcharan Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, lost his life in a similar incident in the Rajouri sector. Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire to create unrest in India while the country has been dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
