Punjab based Army jawan killed as Pakistani troops resort to shelling in J&K's Rajouri district
An Indian Army soldier was martyred in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Manjakot sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night. In an incident, a civilian also suffered an injury in Rajdhani village of the Manjakot sector.
Meanwhile, the deceased soldier has been identified as Naik Gurcharan Singh, who was a resident of Gurdaspur district in Punjab. According to the information, his body has been taken to a hospital for autopsy.
As per the sources, Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling in civilian areas along the Line of Contol in the Manjakot sector on Wednesday night. Pakistan has been targeting civilian areas to push the militants into the Indian territory to create unrest in the country while India is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, Pakistan targeted the civilian areas in the Nowshera sector after which it initiated the ceasefire violation by firing with arms and mortar shelling in the Balakote sector of Poonch district. To this, the Indian Army retaliated befittingly.
Earlier on June 4, Pakistan resorted to heavy mortar shelling in which an Army personnel was killed in Sunderbani sector in Rajouri district.

Pakistan has been desperately trying to push terrorists into Rajouri and Poonch districts for the past few days. While it is trying to do so under the cover of heavy artillery, mortar shelling, and firing, the security forces have been giving a befitting reply to them.
