CRPF jawan martyred, 2 terrorists killed in Shalteng area near Srinagar
Jammu and Kashmir, Shalteng Srinagar Encounter: At least two militants were killed and a CRPF jawan was martyred in a gunbattle in Shalteng area in the outskirts of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said. The encounter took place after the militants opened fire on the security forces. Meanwhile, the security forces retaliated, killing the militants, it added.

Kashmir Zone Police took to twitter and wrote: "#Terrorists attacked a joint naka of Police & security forces at #Lawaypora. In the exchange of fire 02 terrorists were killed. One SF jawan attained #martyrdom. Further details shall follow."
On January 31, a group of three-four terrorists targeted the police team at Nagrota toll plaza on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. One policeman was injured, while three militants were killed in the Nagrota encounter.
