In a major success, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir police, Indian Army and CRPF personnel have arrested a local terrorist in Baramulla district on Saturday. The militant has been identified as Junaid Farooq Pandith. The sources have revealed that a trap was laid for him in Tapper Pattan in Baramulla district.

Meanwhile, DIG Baramulla M Suleman stated that one Chinese pistol, 13 live rounds and 2 magazines have been recovered from Junaid Farooq Pandith. He added that his questioning was underway.

Earlier, two Lashkar-e-taiba militants were killed in an encounter in Anantnag district. Likewsie, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said that the security forces have killed 2 LeT terrorists named Naveed Ahmed Bhat alias Furkan and Aaqib Yaseen Bhat in an encounter last night. He told media persons that they were involved in various terrorist activities.

Also, Baramulla Police have arrested one Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Junaid Farooq Pandith, Dilbag Singh said. Furthermore, he said that “In 2020 so far, there have been 12 successful operations, in which around 25 terrorists have been killed.” Meanwhile, 9 terrorist operatives in Kashmir and 3-4 terrorist operatives in Jammu area have been arrested, he added.

Two LeT militants killed in Anantnag encounter

DGP Dilbag Singh also stated that more than 40 over-ground-workers have also been arrested.” Earlier on Wednesday, the security forces gunned down three militants including a top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen at Awantipore in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
