Jammu and Kashmir: Three Hizbul-Mujahideen terrorists arrested in Kishtwar for murder of BJP, RSS leaders

Jammu and Kashmir: Three Hizbul-Mujahideen terrorists were arrested in Kishtwar on Monday on charges of killing Chanderkant Sharma (BJP) and his PSO. Arrested accused include Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, who was present during the killing of BJP state secretary Anil Parihar in 2018. Sources attributed the killings to a conspiracy to revive terrorism in the area by the longest surviving Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Jahangir Saroori. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1176062223552139266 Arrested terrorists have been identified as Nissar Ahmed Sheikh, Nishad Ahmed and Azad Hussain, residents of Kishtwar. The fourth person, Rustom, was a worker who helped the others hide in the houses of Nissar and Nishad. The accused were involved in the incident of weapon snatching from PSO of Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner and PDP leader. Anil Parihar and his elder brother Ajit Parihar were shot dead by unidentified gunmen ahead of Panchayat elections in November. Anil Parihar was a son of late BJP leader Sewa Ram Parihar. Mukesh Singh, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone said, "In the past one year, 4 incidents of terrorism have taken place in Kishtwar. Due to continuous efforts of Kishtwar police, assisted by CRPF, Army & NIA team, we have been able to solve all the 4 cases of the past 1 year." -PTC News
