Jammu and Kashmir Zainapora Shopian Encounter | 4 Terrorists Killed

At least four unidentified militants were killed during an encounter with the security forces in the Zainapora belt of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Joint troops of 178 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group at Zainapora launched a cordon and search operation in Shopian. Meanwhile, an encounter broke out between the troops and terrorists.

As per the reports, at least 5-6 militants were said to be hiding inside a house in the area. Likewise, the authorities snapped the internet service in Shopian and Kulgam districts as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, the authorities have asked the residents to stay inside their home.

Earlier in the week, at least three militants, affiliated to Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, including an IED expert were neutralised during an encounter with the security forces in the Kangan area of Pulwama district.

The news agency ANI as reported that the security forces had also recovered arms and ammunition from the area.

Last month, the security forces have averted the major IED attack by the militants in Pulwama district. The attack was said to be planned on the lines of Pulwama attack of February 2019. In Pulwama Attac, at least 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred.
