Jashan Singh Kohli– Starboy in Punjab to Turbanators cementing his name in Mumbai
A lawyer by degree, a dancer by passion and an actor by profession- Jashan Singh Kohli is taking over the industry and carving a path for young turbanators in facets of the glam industry. You name it; he has his hands on it – Print advertisements, Bollywood, Reality shows, or the small screen daily soaps.
A charmer, who hails from Punjab and is an inspiration to many, this Sikh lad who is changing the definition of young turbanator for the world. Representing his wits as his weapon and his charm a part of his system, Jashan is ready to take over the television industry after adding numerous shows and advertisements to his basket already!
With the Punjabi industry on the boom, a lot of Punjabi singers and actors are seen in Bollywood making a mark, but this lad chose to cement his name the other way round. Jashan Singh started his career in the entertainment industry with a reality show- ‘Aaja Mahi Vay’ on Star Plus.
He completed his Bachelors in Commerce from DAV College, Chandigarh and then went on to study law from Punjab University, Chandigarh. After his degree he got his hands on becoming a lawyer. His passion grew ever since he was in his early years of college.
Along with college days, while his clad would have fun on the beautiful roads of Chandigarh, he would polish his skills in theatre classes; he joined theatre with Alankar Theatre Group based in Chandigarh.
He also got professionally trained under Shiamak Dawar's Institute of Performing Arts and Saroj Khan’s Dance Academy.
Passion took him to Mumbai then, where he got engaged in reality shows like ‘The Bachelorette India’ on Life Ok and "Ticket To Bollywood" on NDTV Prime.
His television journey soon started with cameos in various shows like- ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ ,’Yeh Hai Mohobbatein’ ,’Savdhan India’ ,’Code Red’ and various others.
He also did a daily soap ‘Total Nadaniya’ on Big magic channel while laying his eyes on the silver screen.
Soon were his dreams realized when he got his first Bollywood flick in Akshay Kumar's ‘Airlift’ where in he played a small role on screen, however it proved to be a game changer for this charismatic man from Chandigarh.
He then did more cameos for movies Raabta and Bhanwarey.
As they say those who know what to do aren’t winner, but those who know how to do it are, such was his journey. He is now leading two big projects - Next movie coming up is Veere Ki Wedding that will be early 2018 and a mega television series "Battle of Saragarhi" which will be aired on Discovery JEET channel.
He will be seen playing the character of Rank no.359 Sepoy Hira Singh (1869-1897), s/o S. Bara singh in Battle of Saragarhi.
Keeping his eyes open for opportunity and his doors unlocked, Jashan Singh Kohli is determined, committed and disciplined to reach his goals along with being keeping his turbun shining high for that is his crown!
