Amid surge in coronavirus cases, JEE (Main) April session exams postponed

JEE Main 2021 April Exam Postponed: In the wake of rising coronavirus cases in India, the third session of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) has been postponed, the Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Sunday. Initially, the session was scheduled to be held from April 27 to April 30. Meanwhile, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank added that, as the exam has been postponed, the revised schedule for the JEE Main 2021 April exam will be announced at least 15 days before the exam. As per the report, the scores obtained in the entrance exam are accepted by some of the premier engineering institutes including IIT and NIT. "Given the current #covid19 situation, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the JEE (Main) - 2021 April Session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students & their academic career is @EduMinOfIndia''s and my prime concerns right now," Pokhriyal tweeted. As per the official order issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it stated that "looking at the present situation of COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well being of candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone JEE-(Main) April session". JEE Main 2021 April Exam Postponed: The 3rd session of JEE Main has been postponed, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Sunday. The order added that the revised dates would be announced later at least 15 days before the examination. Earlier, the Education Minister had announced that class 10 board exams have been cancelled and Class 12 exams have been postponed amid a nationwide Covid surge.
