J&K: Man enters J-K ex-CM Farooq Abdullah’s house, shot dead

Security personnel shot dead an intruder, who gate crashed his vehicle at the Bhatindi residence of former CM Dr Farooq Abdullah in Jammu, on Saturday morning at around 9:30 am. Inspector general of police (IGP) Jammu zone, SDS Jamwal said that documents recovered from the slain intruder revealed his identity as Mufad Shah of Dulata in Poonch district. “It was a forced entry by the intruder who first gate crashed a Mahindra XUV at the Bhatindi residence of former chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah. He then tried to snatch weapon of a CRPF personnel. He also had a scuffle in the lobby area of the house before being gunned down by the security personnel in the lawns,” he said. No member of the Abdullah family was in the house at the time of incident. Some prescriptions of psychotropic drugs were found from the intruder’s vehicle. Jamwal said that the intruder didn’t carry any weapon with him. A massive search operation has been launched in and around the house. The IGP did not rule out the possibility of a terror angle. -PTC News
