Snub to Partap Bajwa: HC rejects his plea of CBI probe in illegal drugs smuggling

The Punjab and Haryana high court took stronge exception and directed Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Pratap Singh Bajwa to withdraw petition seeking CBI probe into drugs smuggling into Punjab. HC said judiciary must not be used to settle political smuggling scores. The court advised bajwa to perform his duties as the legislature and not to interfere into suggesting the court who should conduct the drug probe. Today, BSF filed it's reply and Punjab Police also submitted that they have written to CBI to issue red corner notice to 12 NRIs to which the CBI replied that they have received applications for 11 people in this regard but they need a comprehensive information regarding those people. The DB directed MHA what steps they have taken up so far to seal the Indo-Pak border. The DB also directed Punjab, Haryana and UT to file an affidavit highlighting the actions they have taken up so far to the erring companies to curb synthetic and pharmaceutical drugs. Case adjourned for 21/10. Application seeking CBI enquiry filed by PSBajwa has been withdrawn.
