Jyotiraditya Scindia joins BJP in presence of party president JP Nadda
Jyotiradiya Scindia on Wednesday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of party president JP Nadda at BJP headquarters in Delhi. Scindia resigned from the Congress party on Tuesday citing it was now time for him to move on. BJP President JP Nadda said "I welcome Scindia into BJP on-behalf of everyone assembled here. It is a democratic party where every individual has a say." Meanwhile, Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that "I would like to thank JP Nadda Ji, PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah that they invited me to their family and gave me a place in it." He added that "There have been two life-changing events for me - one, the day I lost my father and the second, yesterday when I decided to choose a new path for my life. The Congress party is not anymore the party that it was earlier." In his resignation, Jyotiraditya Scindia had written: "While my aim and purpose remain the same as it has always been from the very beginning, to serve the people of my state and country, I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party."
