Chandigarh: The Indian Railways has restored the services of Kalka-Delhi Shatabdi which was stopped since March following the lockdown induced by the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
The Kalka-Delhi Shatabdi will be operational after almost 257 days on December 4. According to the report that quoted IRCTC website, only a few passengers will travel on the train.
So far, 56 seats on Friday, 57 on Saturday, 51 on Sunday, 59 on Monday, 51 on Tuesday and 66 seats on Wednesday were not booked yet. Apart from this, the train running between Darbhanga-Amritsar was completely cancelled while the operation of 14 long-distance trains will remain the same.
The 05211 Dibrugarh- Amritsar express special train JCO December 4, 2020, will remain cancelled. Consequently, the 05212 Amritsar – Dibrugarh special train JCO December 5, 2020, will also remain cancelled.
The Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi via Chandigarh was suspended due to coronavirus for a long time but it has finally been restored.
Indian Railways: Short termination/origination of trains
- 02715 Nanded – Amritsar express JCO December 4 will be short terminated at New Delhi. Consequently, the 02716 Amritsar-Nanded exp. JCO 06.12.20 will short originate from New Delhi and remain partially cancelled between New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi.
- 02925 Bandra Terminus – Amritsar express JCO December 4 will be short terminated at Chandigarh, Consequently, the 02926 Amritsar- Bandra Terminus express JCO December 6 will short originate from Chandigarh and remain partially cancelled between Chandigarh-Amritsar- Chandigarh.
- 04652 Amritsar – Jaynagar express special train JCO December 4 will short originate from Ambala. The 04611 Jaynagar – Amritsar express special train JCO December 6 will be short terminated at Ambala and remain partially cancelled between Ambala and Amritsar.
- 08237 Korba – Amritsar express special train JCO December 4 will be short terminated at Ambala. Consequently, the 08238 Amritsar- Korba express special JCO December 6 will short originate from Ambala and remain partially cancelled between Ambala and Amritsar
