The absconding owners of '1Above' pub, Mumbai -Kripesh Sanghvi and his brother Jigar, were arrested by the Mumbai Police from Bandra, a suburb in the city, on Wednesday. Kamala Mills fire: All three owners of '1Above' arrested by Mumbai Police The Sanghvi brothers, as well as their partner Abhijit Mankar, had been on the run post December 29 blaze that gutted '1Above' resto-pub and the adjoining Mojo's Bistro after the cops registered a case against them for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. "Our team arrested owner of the 1 Above pub, Abhijeet Mankar, from Marine Lines in the early hours," Ahmed Pathan, Senior Police Inspector, N M Joshi Marg Police Station told reports.

As per the reports, the police had devised a plan to nab the two co-owners since last evening, after Kariya, who has been arrested for allegedly sheltering the three absconding owners, informed the police of their plans to meet a senior lawyer at a Bandra eatery.

Speaking to media a police officer said, "We got to know that the brothers were in Bandra (West). We laid a trap and caught them when they came to an eatery to meet someone."

Reportedly, almost seven teams of the Mumbai Police had been assigned to the case.

The owners of the 1Above pub are likely to be produced before a magistrate later on Thursday, reports said. -PTC News
