Vikas Dubey, the main accused in Kanpur encounter case, has been arrested at a police station in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. Meanwhile, Narottam Mishra, Madhya Pradesh Minister, said that "It is a big success for the police, Vikas Dubey is a cruel killer. Whole Madhya Pradesh police were on alert. He has been arrested from Ujjain Mahakal temple. We have informed Uttar Pradesh Police." In a major encounter in Kanpur on Friday, at least 8 Uttar Pradesh police personnel including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were killed. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1281087531296018432 The encounter took place when the police had gone to arrest Vikas Dubey, with 60 criminal cases, in Dikru village under Chaubeypur police station. While the team of police was close to the hideout, Vikas's goons opened fire on them from a building rooftop in which Deputy SP Devendra Mishra, 3 sub-inspectors, and 4 constables were killed, the officials said. Kanpur Encounter : 8 Policemen martyred in encounter In Kanpur Earlier on Wednesday, the suspended Station House Officer (SHO) of Chaubeypur, Vinay Tiwari, and beat in-charge K. K. Sharma were arrested on the charges of providing a tip-off to Vikas Dubey about the raid at his house. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)-Kanpur Dinesh Kumar, stated that the two cops provided information to Dubey about the raid. He was killed in an alleged encounter in rural Maudaha in Hamirpur. Additional Director General-Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that an illegal semi-automatic .32 bore pistol was recovered from Amar Dubey. -PTC News
