Home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla visited Kartarpur Corridor with other officials and inspected the route on Monday. He was briefed about progress on the corridor so far. The visit comes ahead of the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8. It will connect Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur, Punjab, with Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur in Pakistan.
On October 12, Union Minister of Food Processing, Harsimrat Kaur Badal announced the date of the inauguration of the corridor. “With the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sikh Panth’s ardaas for ‘khule darshan deedar’ of Sri Kartarpur Sahib to finally become reality! On Nov 8th, history will be created with PM @narendramodi ji inaugurating the #kartarpurcorridor (ICP),” she wrote on her Twitter handle.
The corridor will facilitate Indian pilgrims with Visa-free movement. They will only need a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib, which was established by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1522.
