40 Kashmir Cops Resigned after Hizbul’s  "Resign Or Die" Threat Nearly 40 Special Police Officers (SPO) and policemen have resigned since Friday. The kidnapping and killing of 3 cops in Jammu and Kashmir and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists’ "resign or die" threat has triggered this resignation. Many resignation videos of policemen have surfaced and Centre has rejected the resignation videos calling it as “False Propaganda” by terrorists. The Jammu and Kashmir Government has played it down by saying that the number of resignations is just very negligible. Also Read J&K: On Facebook and WhatsApp, special police officers announce resignations BVR Subramanium, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir told the sources that the State has more than 30,000 SPOs and if you compare 40 with 30,000, then the number is negligible. The three SPOs were dragged out of their homes in South Kashmir before daybreak and were brutally killed by the terrorists. Their bodies were found later in an orchard near their village. This forces policemen to resign following which they made resignation videos. The government has blocked internet services in south Kashmir to prevent cops from uploading such videos on social media. Mukhtar Ahmad said, “I am facing threats. The situation is grim here. My wife and parents asked me to resign as they are worried for their safety. I have got this affidavit and this resignation form as well.” -PTC NEWS-
