Kejriwal should resign owing moral responsibility for involvement of family member in PWD scam: Sirsa

New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janta Party MLA Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa today sought resignation of the Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal for direct involvement of his extended family members in the PWD department scandal in which payment worth crores of rupees was made to the company owned by these family member. In a statement released here today, Mr. Sirsa said that though it was most unfortunate that the man involved had passed away two days ago, but as the scam has unearthed it was for Kejriwal to take the call on moral ground. He said that his co brother or husband of sister of his wife, Mr. Surendra Kumar Bansal's company had presented fake bills worth crores of rupees against which payments have been made. He said that these payments were with regards to drainage project in Bakoli village along NH 44 north West Delhi which was awarded in 2015. He said that though the minister concerned of the department Mr. Satyendar Jain is claiming that the project was awarded before taking over of Kejriwal government, he cannot ignore that fact that payments were made by government headed by Mr. Kejriwal. He questioned him that how it was possible that when a member of the family of Chief Minister was owner of the company, CM could be unaware of the works being done by such company and payments being made to it ? Mr. Sirsa further said only a thorough probe into the scandal will unearth the real amount paid against the bills. He said that it was quite surprising that payments were made on the bills of a non existent company 'Mahadev Impex' and apprehended that the real amount coughed up in the scandal could go to any amount. He said that it was duty of Chief Minister Mr. Kejriwal to not only resign owing moral responsibility but also admit before the public his direct involvement in making payments and in other deals which were executed usurping pubic money from the public exchequer. The BJP leader also said that people of Delhi are a disappointed lot as they are seeing a person directly involved in corrupt practices who was once known as crusader against the corrupt government of Delhi. He said that now people are eagerly waiting for exit of this person as Chief Minister and he should listen to the voice of people who have given their message in the recent MCD elections as well as in Bye poll of the Rajouri Garden and resign without any delay. — PTC News
