Kerala banker sacked for remarks on Kathua rape case Kotak Mahindra Bank in a statement on Friday said that they had sacked its Kochi branch Assistant Manager Vishnu Nandakumar for his insensitive remarks posted on social media in the 8 year old rape case that evoked a huge outrage among citizens of India. Vishnu reportedly wrote on his Facebook profile that "it was good that she was killed at this age itself. Else, she would have grown up and returned throwing bombs in India." It is unclear when Vishnu's comments were posted on his Facebook page, but, as per reports, it soon went viral on social media, with many denouncing the remarks as hate speech and  his comments had sparked an outcry on Twitter with demanding his ouster from the bank, with the hashtag #Dismiss_your_manager. Urging the bank to fire the employee, one of the Twitter users wrote, "Expell Vishnu Nandakumar Inhuman enough to curse the victim rather than the culprits (sic)", while another user said, "Kotak Mahindra.... I never knew you were keen to hire people who supports child rape... Is that going to be the new kotak motto???... save your brand name.... Dismiss the accused. (sic)" The bank's Facebook page was bombarded with such messages, asking for his removal. Kerala banker sacked for remarks on Kathua rape case Vishnu hails from a family of RSS and BJP leaders. Following the controversy, he has deleted his Facebook account. Yesterday, PM Modi, Breaking his silence on the two rape cases that came into limelight in the last few weeks - the Kathua rape and murder case and the Unnao rape case - said, that such incidents cannot be part of a civilised society. “Incidents being discussed since the past two days cannot be part of a civilized society. As a country, as a society, we all are ashamed of it. I want to assure the country that no culprit will be spared, complete justice will be done. Our daughters will definitely get justice.” -PTC News-
