Krishna Murari appointed as the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court A senior judge of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Krishna Murari has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday. The appointment was formalised by the President through a warrant of appointment. Justice Murari will take over from Chief Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, who retires early next month. Known for his integrity, hard work, dedication and liberal attitude, Justice Murari’s understanding and deep appreciation of the judicial system has been honed over a long career as a practising lawyer and as a High Court judge.

Justice Murari belongs to a family of lawyers. His uncle GN Verma was a senior advocate and a leading lawyer on the civil constitutional and revenue side. He had also been general secretary and president of the high court bar association.
