Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian on Friday announced that he is stepping down from his post, following the completion of his three-year tenure

"I've decided to return back to academia following the completion of my three-year fulfilling tenure as CEA, GoI," he said in a statement. He took over from Arvind Subramanian who had left due to personal reasons in June 2018.
