The PIL stated that in 1962 the land of Rana Sodhi's family was acquired by the Punjab government and its compensation was paid at that time only. Likewise, the land was again acquired by the Punjab government in 2012 and its compensation was also paid to Sodhi and his family members. It has been argued in the PIL that the High Power Committee of the Punjab Government has investigated the whole matter and termed it as a hoax. However, being a cabinet minister, no action was being taken against him.
