Land prices shoots up in Halwara after airport announcement
After the Punjab Cabinet on Monday gave nod to build a civil terminal at Halwara in Ludhiana, the real estate industry in Ludhiana gets a boost. With the announcement, the investors have already started visiting the area.
Two days after the announcement, the real estate dealers and agents in Ludhiana were flooded with queries by customers. The land owners have started asking for high prices for their land in Halwara and surrounding areas.
According to a real estate agent, earlier agricultural land near Air force station was available for Rs 25 lakh per acre but after the announcement the land owners have started asking Rs 50 lakh per acre for their lands. Apart from the agricultural land, the town with few houses, asking rate for the land has doubled. Even prices of built up houses have started going up after the announcement. - PTC News
