Last date of filling GST extended to August 25 due to technical glitches
The last date for payment of Goods and Service Tax and filing of return for July 2017 has been extended by 5 days. Now, the last date for filing GST returns, tax payment will be August 25. Earlier, the last date for filing return was August 20. The GST website faced technical glitch as the deadline for filing returns was 20th. keeping the technical trouble in consideration the date has been extended to August 25th. Filing GSTR-3B is mandatory. Even if a business has no transactions during July, it will still have to file nil return. Not file by the deadline will cause a penalty to pay interest of 18% and a late fee. -PTC News
