Laxmmi Bomb: Akshay Kumar’s transgender look will leave you speechless

Bollywood’s Khiladi is back to bowl you over with his upcoming film, Laxmmi Bomb, a remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana. The film revolves around a man under the control of a transgender’s ghost, played by Akshay Kumar. Akki has replicated southern actor Sarath Kumar’s look from the original, wearing a red sari and standing with kohl-rimmed eyes with the image of Goddess Durga in the backdrop.

This is the first time Akshay has played such a bold character, no wonder he is nervous. The actor announced the role on social media saying, “Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion, I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi. A character I am both excited and nervous about. But then life begins at the end of our comfort zone, isn’t it?”

Earlier, there were rumours of Amitabh Bachchan playing the character of the transgender ghost in the film. This stemmed from an interview by director Raghava Lawrence, who said he is keen on casting Bachchan in the remake. Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani-starrer Laxmmi Bomb is all set to hit the screens on June 5, 2020, when the country celebrates Eid. The film is produced by Tusshar Kapoor and Shabina Khan.
