London hospital recruits Indian doctors In a bid to tackle staff shortages in the NHS, this London hospital is recruiting doctors from India. Indian doctors are in high demand as Londan is looking for eligible medical professionals from India. Actually, NHS is trying to tackle the shortage of doctors. In order to manage this shortage, London hospital is looking for doctors specifically from India. It's an innovative scheme to tackle the staff shortage by the London hospital. As per Registrar, Dr Lakshay Chanana, "I decided to come here to gain full experience of emergency medicine and see how different NHS is from the system that we have back home. As demand grows UK hospitals are struggling to find enough staff. Doctors arriving from India are surprised by how busy it is." Registrar Dr. Lajeesh Vettikat said," The numbers attending A&E are so high that they have to wait for a long time to be seen by a doctor. Now I was on shift last night and the waiting times were up to 6 5 hours." Overseas recruiting could be the part of the solution. Consultant Dr. Miriam Harris stated that It was quite serious in that we had a lot of vacancies on our, what we call middle grade rota, but since we started doing this we have actually recruited 10 middle grades who are now all up and running having completed their three month induction period. This is not the first time when Indian doctors have been recruited by the other nations. —PTC News
