Ludhiana DC suggest farmers to set up 'Farm Machinery Bank' : Punjab government has been giving 40 percent subsidy on the establishment of Agro and Farm Machinery Bank under Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) Scheme for residue management in the fields with the help of machinery and equipment. More to it , in another scheme, 80 percent subsidy is being offered to set up a special Farm Machinery Bank at the village level. Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana said that the subsidy had been provided on types of machinery that include 65 paddy straw choppers Shredders/ mulchers, 100-subsoilers and 10 Reversible Mould Board Ploughs. Ludhiana DC suggest farmers to set up 'Farm Machinery Bank'DC said that two Custom Hiring Centre or Farm Machinery Bank, will be set up with the grant of Rs 10 lakh and 80 percent subsidy would be offered and a group of maximum eight farmers can take benefit of this offer. The tractor would not be given in this term. In addition to it, a separate center at the cost of Rs 40 lakh and Rs 25 lakh would also come up for which 40 percent subsidy would be given. Dr. Baldev Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer told that  a subsidy of Rs 50,000 would also be offered on 100 Super Straw Management Systems that was attached with combine harvesters.  Ludhiana DC suggest farmers to set up 'Farm Machinery Bank'He appealed to the interested farmers to submit applications by February 6. Farmers can procure a copy of the application from the offices of Block Agriculture Officers. Interested farmers or farm groups have to give the application along with copies of the land mutation, UID card, Bank Account, Registration Certificate of Tractor. He also disclosed those who would be selected for the machinery, could not burn the stubble and if found, they would be liable to give back the subsidy amount with interest. - PTC News
