Majithia condemns Cong for celebrating day on which third ghallughara was perpetrated on Sikh nation with ‘ladoos’ in cabinet meeting Amritsar: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned the Congress party for celebrating the day on which the third Ghallughara was perpetrated on the Sikh nation with ‘ladoos’ in a cabinet meeting even as Sikhs across the world were in mourning. Terming this reprehensible act of the Congress party as “beyond shame”, SAD general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia demanded an immediate apology from the entire cabinet for hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community during his address at a commemorative function at Chowk Mehta today. Stating that the attack on the holiest Sikh shrine - Sri Harmandar Sahib followed by the massacre of Sikhs in the streets of Delhi as part of a Congress program were acts which no Sikh could forget, he said it was even more condemnable that the attack on Sri Harmandar Sahib occurred when pilgrims had congregated there on the occasion of Shaheedi divas of Guru Arjan Dev ji. “Hundreds of innocents were killed in the army attack”, he said adding it needed to be probed if the attack was deliberately timed on this fateful day to ensure maximum casualties. Asserting that this had been done to a kaum which which had done the most for the country, Mr Majithia said the Congress owed an apology to the Sikh community. He also urged that the union government should make files regarding Operation Bluestar public to tell what was the reason for this dastardly act and why no action had been taken against the perpetrators.”Justice can only be served once the real culprits are punished for their ghastly acts”, he added. -PTC News
