Man, 4 daughters dead after upstate New York house fire

A major fire broke out in Upstate New York house killing a man and his four daughters on Friday night. According to media, the man has been identified as Aaron Bodah and his daughters have been identified as Skylar, Erin, Alexa and Merissa.

The girls were between the ages of 4 and 14. According to the preliminary investigation, the fire started in the kitchen at around 1:30 am. The pots were left on the electric stove. Moreover, smoke detectors had no batteries. The fifth daughter escaped and ran to the neighbours for help.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital. Hundreds of people gathered outside the house. Mourners placed flowers at a makeshift memorial and released balloons.
