Man leaves 70-year-old mother on streets, goes on tour with wife 70-year-old Rashmani Bhattacharya was left at her own on the street by her teacher son and his wife with few clothes and some food. The couple left the elderly woman, as the two left for a tour to Assam leaving her on the street outside their house. Rashmani kept mum due to the reputation of her son and his wife, both teachers by profession at a private school in Barrackpore. She stayed on the street for few days. But soon she felt hungry and lonely. That was when, Rashmani's neighbours saw her crying. According to the neighbours, this has happened before as well. Local councilor Ajbithi Biswas said, "we have provided her shelter nearby and food as well. We will wait for the couple to come back from Assam. Then will take legal action."Municipality head of Barrackpore, Uttam Das said, "It is a sad incident. Have asked police to look into the matter." -PTC News
