Manali Sword Attack: Four tourists from Punjab have been arrested in Himachal Pradesh's Manali for allegedly brandishing swords and attacking a local.

The incident took place near the Manali police station after a scuffle broke out over the overtaking. Following the scuffle, the local was attacked while two of the Punjab tourists were seen brandishing swords.

According to the information, the local suffered minor injuries while a case has been registered against the 5 tourists under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code. While four of them have been arrested one is still absconding. Netizens criticized the Manali's sword attack.
Earlier, the photos from Manali were going viral on social media where tourists were seen on the streets without maintaining social distancing. Visitors, in huge number, were seen clicking selfies, taking walks, without covering their faces.
Manali locals were feared of a third wave of coronavirus urging tourists to follow Covid-19 protocols during the visit. Tourists have been visiting hill stations in Himachal Pradesh.
Chaman Kapoor, President, Municipal Council Manali, said that they cannot stop people visiting Manali but they should follow the social distancing norms as the third wave is almost round the corner.
