Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Sunday appealed the Pakistan government to take action to save the Shaheedi sthaan. The development comes after the site of the martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singh ji at Naulakha Bazaar in Lahore, Pakistan was being claimed as the place of Masjid Shahid Ganj.

“Sikhs, even when they are the most humanitarian community, are called Goonda by mischievous extremist elements in Pak who refuse to honour History,” Sirsa said in a tweet.

He also said that "Pak extremists want to obliterate this Shaheedi Sthaan completely. This is against basic human rights- no one can deny a person the freedom to practice their religion.

He further appealed Pak PM Imran Khan and said "Please warn such extremist elements and take immediate action to save Shaheedi Sthaan from illegal squatters."
