After the lathicharge on farmers in Karnal on August 28, a war of words erupted between Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his Punjab counterpart Captain Amarinder Singh. Manohar Lal Khattar has questioned Captain Amarinder Singh on the MSP system in his state. Amid the ensuing verbal duel, Manohar Lal Khattar has posed the following questions to Punjab CM and asked him to come clean on all these issues.   • Haryana procures 10 crops at MSP – paddy, wheat, mustard, bajra, gram, moong, maize, groundnut, sun flower, cotton and makes the MSP payment directly into the account of the farmer. How many crops does Punjab buy from the farmer at MSP?
  • Haryana provides an incentive of Rs 7000/- per acre to every farmer who wants to move away from paddy cultivation. What is the incentive that Punjab provides to the farmer similarly?
