MC Issue Challans to Seven for using Plastic Bags in Their Rehris in CHD Chandigarh is acting tough against the use of Plastic bags in Chandigarh. The Municipal Corporation (MC) has started taking strict steps by issuing challans to the violators. Municipal commissioner K K Yadav said MC is conducting regular awareness campaigns and raids against the use of plastic to enforce a ban on polythene bags and items in the city. They conducted an anti-plastic raid in Apni Mandi at Sector 40, the MC team issued challans to seven violators who kept plastic bags in their rehris, and issued another challan to a consumer carrying fruits and vegetables in a plastic bag. Municipal commissioner K K Yadav said, "Municipal corporation is conducting different workshops regarding the ban on plastic for enforcing staff and will conduct the same for the sellers in near future. The process of garbage disposal will only improve with a change in the mindset of people." -PTC NEWS
