MC polls: Firing incident in Mallanwala, Akali leader injured
On the last day of filing of nomination papers for Municipal Council polls in the State, an alleged incident of firing has been reported in Mallanwala in Ferozepur District. As per the information, an Akali leader has allegedly been injured. The vehicle of Akali worker has also been damaged in the incident. Akali Dal leaders have levelled serious charges of high handedness on the Congress leaders. They also said that Congress leaders being in power are restraining them from filing nominations. A SAD-BJP delegation has also urged the State Election Commission to take action against officials for intentionally not issuing no due certificates to their candidates for the forthcoming municipal elections. -PTC News
