Baba Ramdev's Patanjali launches Covid-19 drug 'Coronil'; Centre seeks details
Patanjali Ayurvedic Medicines has been asked by the government to provide details of the anti-viral tablet Coronil launched by it as an alleged treatment for the patients of coronavirus (Covid-19).
The ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) has directed Patanjali to stop advertising the products—Coronil and Swasari. Similarly, Patanjali has been warned to stop misleading advertising until the results are verified.
"Facts of the claim and details of the stated scientific study are not known to the Ministry," the Ministry of Ayush said in a statement. It added that the company asked to provide details of medicines and to stop advertising/publicising such claims till the issue is duly examined.
It further stated that "Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has been asked to provide at the earliest details of the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment; site(s)/hospital(s), where the research study was conducted for Covid-19; protocol, sample size, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, Clinical Trials Registry- India registration and results data of the study."

Patanjali has claimed a 100 percent recovery rate and a 0 percent mortality rate. It also stated that all the coronavirus patients turned negative without any mortality, within the span of 3 to 15 days.
