Mohali: 4 waiters die after New Year’s party

Mohali: As many as four waiters, hired from a catering firm for organising a New Year party, died at a house in Mohali on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the deceased have been identified as Dharam Singh (22), a resident of Kaimbwala village, Amit Kumar (20), and Rajnish Kumar (17), both residents Kansal village and Dwarka Prashad (33), a resident of Mauli Jagran. All the victims were from Uttar Pradesh and worked as waiters on a contractual basis. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot. In a statement, the police officials stated that the incident took place at a house in sector 69. After the New Year celebration concluded, the workers decided to stay back in a room inside the house. The victims were seen carrying angithi in CCTV footage. Also, the kins of the victims did not blame anyone for the incident." Meanwhile, the bodies have been sent for the post mortem. -PTC News
