Monsoon 2021: IMD predicts thunderstorm with rain in Delhi in 24 hours

Delhi IMD weather forecast: Delhi is likely to witness thunderstorms with rain on Monday due to the early arrival of the monsoon, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The IMD weather forecast suggested that the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi were also expected to go below normal. The minimum temperature is likely to be 25 degrees Celsius in the national capital while the maximum temperature is predicted to reach 34 degrees Celsius. As per the report, the monsoon is around two weeks ahead of schedule because of a low-pressure system building up over the Bay of Bengal. It is likely to advance over the national capital and most parts of northwest India by June 15 while the southwest monsoon generally reaches Delhi by June 27-28. Kuldeep Srivastava, the head of IMD’s regional weather forecasting center, had said that the conditions were favorable for further advancement of southwest monsoon into most parts of Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, parts of west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab during the next 48 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi on Sunday were four notches below the average. The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was also 4 notches below the average at 23.8 degrees Celsius.
