As monsoon hits part of Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana, the people witnessed a much-needed relief from the high temperature. Heavy rainfall lashed parts of Tricity. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rainfall for the next 4 days.
Meanwhile, India witnessed extremely heavy rains accompanied by the thundershowers and rains.
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall along with a thunderstorm was observed between 5:30 pm on Tuesday to 5:30 am on Wednesday over several areas across the nation.
These include Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim, Kerala and Mahe, Saurashtra and Kutch, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
The weather in Punjab and Haryana remained pleasant as the maximum temperatures in both the states near normal limits. Also, the showers have made it a pleasant day for the neighbouring states.
Similarly, the IMD has predicted strong winds with speed reaching 50-60 kmph likely over Southwest, Westcentral and Northeast Arabian Sea and along and off Gujarat coast during the next 48 hours.
