Shiromani Akali Dal and Bahujan Samajwadi Party MPs have been protesting against farm laws outside the Parliament since the first day of Monsoon Session 2021.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting against farm laws at Delhi borders for over eight months. There have been several rounds of meeting between the Centre and farmer unions but all of them remained inconclusive.
Farmers have been protesting against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
