Montreal Sikh Community raising money for local charities for 31 years

Montreal Sikh Community has been raising money for local charities for 31 years. Members of the Gurudwara Sahib Quebec Sikh temple raised $6,000 for local Montreal Non-profit organizations. Recently, the members of the Montreal Sikh community gathered at the Pointe-Saint-Charles temple to celebrate the 549th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The Sikh community used this day as an opportunity to help the needy ones. The community has been donating to the Sun Youth Organisation for over 31 years. This year, Sun Youth received $3,500 in donations.

Also, Share the Warmth Foundation has also been receiving donation from the Sikh Community for over 11 years. And this year, they received $2,500 as donations.

Gurudwara Sahib Quebec Temple president Opkar Sandhu said that this annual donation expression helps them reach out to the needy ones. The Brossard Mayor, Doreen Assad, was also present at the ceremony. He tweeted, For over 31 years the Sikh Gurudwara Sahib Quebec Temple has donated to the @SunYouthOrg. Co-founder, Sid Stevens graciously thanks the Montreal Sikh community for their $3,500 donation this year.”
