Senior leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal including members of its Core Committee met informally at the residence of the Punjab Chief Minister and party's chief patron Sardar Parkash Singh Badal here this evening. The meeting chaired by the party chief patron in chief Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, lasted nearly half an hour. Giving details of the meeting, the party's General Secretary and spokesperson, Mr Harcharan Singh Bains told newspersons that the meeting considered the party’s programme for the successful and peaceful completion of the observance of the series of Sri Akahand Paths of the sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the wake of the most painful incidents of sacrilege of the divine scripture in the state in recent days. It may be recalled that the party president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal had called upon party leaders, workers and other devout Sikhs to organize Akhand Paths throughout the state as a part of the "Pashchatap" (introspection and atonement) towards the great Guru.
