Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad, Kerala: Days after violence during the tractor march in Delhi on Republic Day, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the truth was that most farmers do not understand the details of Farm Laws 2020. Rahul Gandhi said that "most farmers do not understand Farm Laws 2020, because if they did, there would have been agitation all across the country. The country would have been on fire."

Addressing a public gathering at Kalpetta in Wayanad, Kerala, the Congress leader said that he told his Chief Ministers that he cannot defeat the farm laws in Parliament, they should kill it in states. "Some years ago, I noticed that there was an attempt to attack India's farmers. It started in Bhatta Parsaul when their land was just being taken away. I realized it was a problem and I started a conversation inside the Congress party. The result of that was a new Land Acquisition Bill," said Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad, Kerala.
