Delhi: Mother held for killing seven-month-old daughter A 27-year-old woman strangled her seven-month old daughter and presented it as an accidental death in Delhi. The accused held the infant responsible for their family’s Medical and Financial Problems and has been arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday. On August 20, Hazrat Nizamuddin police station received information from the Moolchand hospital that a girl child has been brought dead.  The police reached the hospital and found that the child was brought to the hospital by her parents, Israr Khan (father) and Adiba (mother). An inquiry was conducted where the parents said that the girl has drowned in the bucket. An investigation was conducted, where police noticed a doubtful mark on the baby’s front portion of the neck. The body was later sent to AIIMS for post-mortem. On August 27 the post-mortem reports came and stated "the cause of death is fatal pressure over the neck." Also, as per the report there was no water in the internal organs of the deceased. Following which the police later investigated the crime scene and found water bucket having yellowish water, which was later seized. During interrogation, she confessed about murdering her daughter. On the day of the incident, no one was present at her home and deceased was killed in her sleep. Adiba strangulated her daughter with a duppata and later put the body in the bucket to show her death due to drowning. She later informed his husband about the incident. Accused Adiba has been arrested and the dupatta used for strangulation has been recovered by the police. -PTC NEWS-
