Maharashtra: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 26-year-old man was beaten to death by at least 12 people, including six women, following a tiff over a seat in Mumbai-Latur-Bidar Express, on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Sagar Markand. The incident took place on Thursday when Kalyan resident Sagar and his wife Jyoti boarded the train, along with their two-year-old daughter, at Kalyan on Wednesday. The general compartment of the train was full. Later, Markand asked some women to adjust so his wife caryying a toddler in her arm could sit and take rest, the Superitendent of Police, Railways, Deepak Satore, said. Soon after Markand asked women to adjust, they started abusing him, leading to a huge brawl. Then, at least a dozen others started kicking and punching Markand. As per report, the Markand family was travelling to Kurduvadi in Solapur district to attend a funeral of a relative. SP Deepak Satore said that "We have detained at least six women and four men.
