Muzaffarnagar: BJP candidate Sanjeev Balyan alleges 'Fake voting due to burqa-clad voters'
Muzaffarnagar BJP candidate Sanjeev Balyan alleged 'Fake voting due to burqa-clad voters' in his Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday. He claimed that the faces of "burqa-clad" voters were not being verified by poll officials.

He said that the poll officials were not checking the faces of women in burqa and he alleged that fake voting is taking place. He also said that if his concerns are not addressed properly, he would demand re-election in his area.
Polling for 91 Lok Sabha constitutions across 18 states and two union territories is underway. The constituencies going for polls in the first phase are - 8 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Uttarakhand, 4 in Bihar, 7 in Maharashtra, 5 in Assam, 4 in Odisha, 2 each in Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and West Bengal, and 1 each in Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

More than 15 crore voters will decide the fate of 1289 candidates. More than one lakh polling booths have been set up across India. Voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases - April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting of votes will be done on May 23.
