NaMo temple: Tamil Nadu farmer builds temple to show his affection for PM Narendra Modi [PHOTOS]

NaMo temple: While some parts of nation are anguished over Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Tamil Nadu farmer has built a temple for PM Modi at his agricultural farm in Eragudi village near Thuraiyur in Tiruchirappalli district. P Shankar, 50, has constructed the temple of PM Modi for implementing several schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKSN). The temple is built at a cost of Rs 1.2 lakh, which welcomes the people with a traditional 'kolam' (rangoli). The temple is having an idol of PM Narendra Modi at the centre. It features PM Modi's idol with his trademark white beard and hairstyle, wearing a pink kurta and a blue jacket. The idol also has tilak on the forehead. P Shankar was quoted by a news agency as saying, "The work to construct a temple for Ayya (a Tamil word equivalent to Sir in English which refers to PM Modi) started about eight months back. I could not complete it immediately due to constraints. It was inaugurated last week." Benefits from the Centre's welfare schemes helped the farmer to build the temple. The farmer added that "I received Rs 2,000 from a scheme (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) for farmers, gas (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana) and toilet (Individual Household Latrine Scheme) facilities.
