Alarming incident at Osmania University girls hostel: Student witnesses hands emerging from bathroom ventilator

To voice their grievances, the students briefed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) about the security lapse and other concerns. The DCP subsequently inspected the campus and acknowledged security lapses in the hostel. A protest has erupted among students at Osmania University Post Graduate Girls Hostel, shedding light on a series of unsettling incidents that occurred after their return from the Sankranti Holidays. The protest underscores the urgent need for enhanced safety measures within the hostel.
According to a student protester interviewed by ANI, concerns had been growing among the residents since their return from the holidays. Strange sounds were reportedly heard in different rooms, initially dismissed as a mistake.
The situation took a terrifying turn when a hostel resident witnessed hands protruding from the ventilators of washrooms on both the ground and first floors. Describing the harrowing ordeal, the student protester shared, "Yesterday, the incident happened on two floors simultaneously, the ground floor and the first floor. Our washrooms have ventilators with limited space. A student locked herself in the washroom and saw hands coming out of the ventilator, causing her to panic and flee."
In response to the alarming situation, the students sought assistance from their seniors to confront the intruders. The protesters are now demanding the apprehension of all individuals involved in the disturbing incidents.
Urging the Vice-Chancellor (VC) to personally address their concerns, she emphasised, "We've been here since 12:30. It's crucial for the VC to come, understand our problems, and provide comprehensive solutions. Security is paramount, and we seek robust measures for our residence."
