Chandigarh-bound IndiGo flight receives bomb threat

PTC News Desk: A Chandigarh-bound IndiGo flight received a bomb threat on Saturday. The Hyderabad-Chandigarh flight was isolated as it landed after receiving a security-related alert.

A statement from Indigo Airlines informed that "Flight 6E 108, operating from Hyderabad to Chandigarh received a security-related alert. Upon landing, the aircraft was isolated, and all customers were safely disembarked."


"Ensuring the safety and security of our customers and crew remains paramount in all facets of our operations. We worked closely with the relevant authorities, and standard operating procedures were followed. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused our customers and appreciate their understanding," it added.

Earlier, in the day a London-bound Vistara flight from Delhi was diverted to Frankfurt in Germany following a bomb threat. Vistara issued a statement after landing and said that the flight safely landed in Germany and all the mandatory checks were in place. The flight will be headed to its destination once it clears all the security checks.

"Vistara flight UK17 operating from Delhi to London on October 18, 2024 received a security threat on social media. In line with the protocol, all relevant authorities were immediately informed and as a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to divert the flight to Frankfurt," the spokesperson said.

Besides Vistara, Akasa Air which was bound to fly from Bengaluru to Mumbai also received an alert moments before departure. “Hence as per safety and security procedures, all passengers had to be deplaned as the local authorities followed necessary procedures. We request your understanding as our team on the ground did everything possible to reduce inconvenience,” Akasa Air said in a post on X.
